PD Dr. Claes Tullin (1959) studied at the faculty of Inorganic Chemistry at Chalmers Institute of Technology and the Göteborg University from 1987-1995, which resulted in a Licentiate thesis in 1990 (“Sulphur Capture in Pressurised Fluidised Bed Combustion”) and a Ph.D. thesis in 1995 (“Emissions of N2O and NO from single particles of coal under fluidising bed combustion conditions”). The work presented in the Ph.D. thesis was partly performed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering during 1991 to 1993.

Employed at Pharmacia AB in Uppsala as an engineer in 1985 until when CT started his Ph.D. studies at Chalmers in Göteborg. In 1994 CT worked for a shorter period at ABB Carbon in Finspång until employed by SP Swedish National Testing and Research Institute. Previous work experience also covers work as a consultant and participation in projects in developing countries. At present CT is responsible for R&D in the area of combustion technology. CT is since 1997 the Swedish delegate in International Energy Agency (IEA), Task 32 Biomass Combustion, where he represents the Swedish National Energy Administration.
